Interfaith Wedding Ceremonies

I am often asked if I perform interfaith weddings between Catholics and fiances of another Christian faith or a non-Christian faith or no faith.

Yes I do!

Almost half of the weddings I perform are interfaith ceremonies. Most common are between Catholics and other Christian denominations.
I have also performed about a dozen Christian-Muslim ceremonies and Christian-Jewish ceremonies.

Below is an unsolicated thank you note, plus photos, of Kelly and Ari's wedding in 2010:

Dear Father Steve

Thank you so much for officiating at our wedding.  We really appreciate your help in putting together a ceremony that reflected our beliefs and backgrounds and your willingness to work together with Rabbi Jacques Cukierkorn.  We were very nervous when we started planning that we weren't going to find someone who would support and guide us in our journey to plan an interfaith ceremony and marriage and you did all that and more. Your sense of humor and open mindedness made our wedding day the perfect combination of FUN and celebration.

And on top of it all, you came all the way up to Lutsen!  Our guests really enjoyed the ceremony and you two as officiants, and the Z's (an elderly couple) for whom you did a special blessing, were incredibly touched - they were married (about 40) years ago by a rabbi and no priest would officiate.

The world needs more champions for respectful, celebratory interfiath marriages, and Ari and I feel incredibly lucky to have found that in you.  Thank you for reminding us we are all God's children.

All our best,

Kelly and Ari
